Killebrew enjoyed a big day at the plate. He lined a base-hit in the 5th inning, laced a one-base hit in the 7th inning and smacked a three-run homer in the 8th inning. Minnesota out-hit Oakland for the game, 14 hits to 9. The winning pitcher was Dave Boswell(2-1) who allowed 4 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings. Boswell got relief help from Al Worthington who gained credit for his 1st save. Rollie Fingers(1-1) was charged with the loss.
