Stadium. The score was tied at 1 after nine. Washington won the game in the 11th inning. Zoilo Versalles led off and started the attack as he ripped a base-knock. Frank Howard stepped up next and he cracked a two-run shot giving Washington the win much to the delight of the home town crowd. Neither team was able to score until the 6th inning. The win went to Darold Knowles(5-0) who allowed no runs in 1 and 2/3 innings. Dick Hall(4-3) was the loser in relief. He gave up 2 hits and no walks without retiring a batter.
