Murcer had a big day at the plate. He blasted a two-run home run in the 4th inning and cracked a solo homerun in the 6th inning. Boston proved to be no trouble in the 9th. Downing(5-6), allowing 4 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Sonny Siebert(11-6) was the loser. He was knocked around by New York (AL), allowing 7 hits and 3 walks in 3 and 2/3 innings.
