The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance provided by Killebrew. He blasted a two-run home run in the 1st inning and clubbed a two-run home run in the 7th inning. Both teams ended up with 7 hits on the night. The win was credited to Tom Hall(7-8) who went 7 and 2/3 innings allowing 5 runs. Hall got relief help from Al Worthington who gained credit for his 6th save. Marcelino Lopez(7-9) took the loss. He gave up 7 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings and saw his ERA jump from 3.21 to 3.47.
