MONTREAL AT HOUSTON Expos........... 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 4 - 4 4 0 Astros.......... 0 0 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 - 1 2 1 Win:Radatz(6-3) Loss:Dierker(12-10) Homeruns- M.Jones(14th) The Montreal Expos came roaring back in the top of the ninth to spoil the anticipated celebration of the hometown fans. The final score,, was 4 to 1. Montreal had the winning rally in the top of the 9th inning when they scored 4 runs on 2 hits. The biggest moment was provided by Mack Jones who deflated the mood of the partisan fans when he lost the ball over the fence for three runs. Montreal had only 4 hits for the night. Dick Radatz(6-3) got the win allowing no runs in 2 innings. Larry Dierker(12-10) was the loser. He was stingy with the baserunners, allowing just 4 hits and 2 walks in 8 innings. Gene Mauch was all smiles after the game, 'To pull a game out in your last at bats, is a beautiful feeling - and did you see how quiet it got out there? You could have heard a pin drop when we took the lead. But, hey, that's what makes baseball so great - as the great sage Yogi Berra says, 'it's not over 'til its over.'
