The final score was the Baltimore Orioles 6, the Chicago (AL) White Sox 5. Rick Dempsey was a thorn in the side of the hometown fans as he enjoyed a fine day at their team's expense. He lofted a three-run bomb in the 5th inning and doubled which brought home a run in the 6th inning. Chicago (AL) threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short. Tippy Martinez(2-1) went 4 and 1/3 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Don Aase gained credit for his 6th save. Tom Seaver(4-2) ended up with the loss. 'Just one or two mistakes were all it took to beat us tonight' Tony LaRussa said. 'We take these games one day at a time, but this one was hard to take.'
