Davis(5-3) gave a fine effort for Baltimore. He surrendered 4 hits and no walks in 6 and 1/3 innings. The right-handed Davis had his no-hit bid broken up by Donnie Hill who singled with two outs in the 6th inning. Oakland threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short. Don Aase earned his 7th save. Jose Rijo(2-4) was given the loss. His ERA increased from 4.40 to 4.71 as he allowed 5 runs in 5 and 2/3 innings.
