This is just a small site for me to share my interest in Strat-O-Matic Baseball. It is an annually updated cards-and-dice baseball game that can be played alone or with another player. I play both the C&D and the PC versions of the game.
Starting Lineup
Why Strat-O-Matic? - This page is my comparison of SOM and other cards-and-dice baseball games that also have computer versions. Featured are: APBA Baseball, Replay Baseball, Dynasty League Baseball, and Inside Pitch Baseball.
SOM Games and Features - I made a chart to compare the Basic, Advanced, and Super Advanced games. The chart also includes Baseball Express and the 2020 PC game. It has not been updated for the 2021 and 2022 games, but I have determined there has not been any new gameplay feature other than the ability to emulate the 2020 and 2021 MLB rules.
My SOM Baseball 2020 settings. - I still see posts from people stumped on settings for the PC game. This page has what I use, and why. If I get back to playing replays again I may update this page for the 2022 game.
Strat-O-Matic Baseball Features by Season - This is a frequently requested document that is in the computer game's folder, but is otherwise unknown to C&D-only players. Which seasons are ADV, which are SADV, and which have been updated recently? This is the newest (v2021) version.
2017 Nippon Pro Baseball Project - My attempt to improve upon the default SOM 2017 NPB season. Among other things, I improved the Japanese stadiums and added entry photos. Users of other recent NPB seasons will also benefit from this page.
Strat-O-Matic - the official home page. Buy stuff there, get the latest news, and so on.
Brian's Ballparks - high-quality player photos for the 2004 through 2019 seasons. There are also ballpark and entry photos, among other things.
Strat-O-Matic Fan Forum - the unofficial fan forum for Strat-O-Matic board and computer games for all four sports. Strat-O-Matic's staff stop by from time to time. While you need to have a non-free e-mail account (use your home internet provider or, like me, your own domain name), the content and discussion are more than worth the minor inconvenience.
Delphi Strat-O-Matic Gamer Forum - an unofficial fan forum for those who aren't able to obtain a non-free-email address. It is busier than other forums I have found but isn't at the SOM Fan Forum's level. Facebook has some good SOM groups you can join if you use it.
Strat Draft - I use this website with my NetPlay SOM league. It helps to organize online drafts and transactions. There are also links to online baseball leagues that also use the site. Some of the leagues there are looking for new managers like you!
Strat Tournament Players Club - if you want to take on the nation's best in the cards and dice game, find the schedule and information there. There are also NetPlay tournaments (using the PC game) and PureStrat (cards and dice over Skype).
2021 Learning Tournament article. It was my first STPC experience. I had a great time and played more Strat than I was used to, LOL.
Strat-O-Shack - a blog showcasing support files (like NPB player photos) and nostalgia.
Netplay Baseball - Stuff - this page has some useful guides and utilities. I use its tutorial to combine separate A.L. and N.L. into one Major Leagues.
SOMWorld - the unofficial fanzine of Strat-O-Matic Baseball. I recommend it to those who want to win against other humans, or just want to better understand how the game works.
RotoWire - my favorite fantasy baseball site. I even have a subscription. Even if you don't play fantasy baseball, fantasy sites are useful for SOM players who play in current keeper leagues.
NBC Sports Edge - good site for free fantasy news and updates.
Graveyard Baseball - even though it is specifically an English-language blog for the Saitama Seibu Lions, there are archived posts that are good for new Nippon Pro Baseball fans.
Board Game Geek - covers sports board/card/dice games and also other popular board game genres.
